Presentation of GROW cycle by Shane Hochstetler

Everything we do as a church should fit into one of the five categories above. When it comes to planning events and ministry activities, we seek to label them appropriately so that everything we do contributes to the overall good and plan of evangelism for the church.

This example month shows both ideas for events and events that have been voted and approved by the board for church ministry. Each event or activity carries the aspect of the GROW cycle to which it primarily contributes.

In this regard, it helps us all to see that each thing the church does, whether game nights, prayer meetings, or family nature hikes, all work together for a common goal and purpose.

Shane Hochstetler mentioned that a printed calendar or event guide with notations for which aspect of the GROW cycle each event contributes will be available soon.

Appeal for Sabbath School by Shane Hochstetler

While additional teachers are always welcome, the greatest need for the One Sabbath School (primarily Junior-aged kids) and Youth Sabbath School is for additional adults to attend and participate in the classes.

Many young students of our Sabbath Schools look forward to the classes every week, but the teachers could use additional support to ensure the safety of students (ensuring two adults in each class at all times, etc.). Ideally, additional adults should be in the classrooms by 9:30 AM when the teacher is there to begin the class.

Send an email to info@wsda.church if you would like to be a class support person, or perhaps would like to volunteer to lead a class.

Current list of Sabbath Schools:

  • Beginner’s (Church classroom)

  • One Sabbath School (School classroom 110)

  • Youth Sabbath School (Church downstairs)

  • Pastors Class (Pastors Office)

  • Adult Sabbath School (Sanctuary)

Financial Report by Harold Greene

Beginning with Evangelism, church treasurer Harold Greene presents a financial report for the church.

This report shows the evangelism funds over the last three years, from starting in a negative balance in 2023 due to evangelistic efforts made in 2022, to rising into a moderate surplus by the end of 2023. This increase came as the result of a dedicated effort to grow this fund specifically and featured a fund-raising chart in the church foyer and numerous calls from the front of the church.

We should continue to contribute to this fund as it makes many of the outreach efforts of the church possible.

Details of the church loan and the determined progress being made to pay it back well before the scheduled date, interest savings also shown under point number five.

These are the projects that were funded by the current loan. Once fully paid off, over $1K/mos. (current payment we’re making onto the load) could be used for ministry and/or new necessary projects.

an emphasis was given on the importance of filling out the tithe envelope when using it, rather than placing money in an unmarked envelope. It is our desire to honor your intent of donation and/or returning of tithe. If you have questions about how the tithe envelope or the various ministries work, please talk to the pastor, treasurer, or one of the elders.

Season of Prayer by Pastor Jeff Werda

Pastor Jeff led the attendees of the business meeting in a season of prayer for the mission and ministry of our church, which concluded the meeting.

Per the last voted measure, the next scheduled business meeting will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025.
